     James William Duff was born circa 1776.1 He was the son of James Duff and Margaret Ogilvie Dunbar.1 He died on 28 July 1797.1 He was buried at Greyfriars Cemetery, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1

     Fife Duff was born circa 1778.1 He was the son of James Duff and Margaret Ogilvie Dunbar.1 He died in 1800 at Plymouth, Devon, England.1
     Fife Duff gained the rank of Midshipman in the service of the Royal Navy.1
