     Ruth Bowden was born on 26 February 1911.1 She is the daughter of Sir Harold Bowden, 2nd Bt. and Vera Whitaker.1 She married, firstly, Christopher Bourchier Wrey, son of Edward Castell Wrey, on 8 June 1932.1 She and Christopher Bourchier Wrey were divorced in 1947.1 She married, secondly, Ernest Wittmann, son of Armin Wittmann, on 3 September 1947.1
     From 8 June 1932, her married name became Wrey.1 From 3 September 1947, her married name became Wittmann.1 She lived in 2003 at Flat 3, Hale House, 34 De Vere Gardens, London, England.1
