     Marian Blakiston-Houston was born on 26 November 1905.1 She was the daughter of Richard Blakiston-Houston and Lilian Agnes Kidston.1 She married General Sir Gordon Holmes Alexander MacMillan of MacMillan and Knap, son of Dugald Alexander MacMillan, on 10 August 1929.1 She died on 29 April 1991 at age 85.1
      From 10 August 1929, her married name became MacMillan.1 She was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1952.1 She was invested as a Companion, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.).1

     General Sir Gordon Holmes Alexander MacMillan of MacMillan and Knap is the son of Dugald Alexander MacMillan.1 He married Marian Blakiston-Houston, daughter of Richard Blakiston-Houston and Lilian Agnes Kidston, on 10 August 1929.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.).1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He was invested as a Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.).1 He gained the rank of General in the service of the Argyll and Sutherland Highalnders.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.).1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).1 He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).1
