Lt.-Col. Allan St. John Blunt was born on 27 October 1880.1 He was the son of Colonel Arthur Blunt and Frances Jemima Roper.1 He married Doris Elizabeth Stephen, daughter of John George Stephen, on 4 March 1914.1 He died on 31 July 1931 at age 50.1
He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Colonel in the York and Lancashire Regiment.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the York and Lancashire Regiment.1
