Arthur Powlett Blunt was born on 13 July 1883.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Grant Blunt and Rachel Eliza Pile.1 He married Winifred Grace Fawcett, daughter of William Herbert Fawcett, on 11 January 1919.1 He and Winifred Grace Fawcett were divorced in 1937.1 He died on 15 April 1946 at age 62.1
Arthur Powlett Blunt gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Chinese Labour Corps.1 He fought in the First World War between 1917 and 1918.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1923.1 He held the office of Consul-General to Canton in 1937.1
