     Rt. Hon. Sir Rowland Blennerhassett, 4th Bt. was born on 5 September 1839.1 He was the son of Sir Arthur Blennerhassett, 3rd Bt. and Sarah Mahony.1 He married Countess Charlotte de Leyden on 9 June 1870.1 He died on 22 May 1909 at age 69.1
     Rt. Hon. Sir Rowland Blennerhassett, 4th Bt. succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Blennerhassett, of Blennerville, co. Kerry [U.K., 1809] on 22 April 1849.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Galway between 1865 and 1874.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Kerry.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Royal University of Ireland, Ireland.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kerry in 1866.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Kerry.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Kerry between 1880 and 1885.1 He was the President between 1897 and 1904 at Queen's College, Cork, County Cork, Ireland.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2
