     Sir Francis William Lascelles was born on 23 March 1890.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Henry Arthur Lascelles and Caroline Maria Gore.1 He married Esmée Marion Bury, daughter of Charles Arthur Bury and Maud M. McEmery, on 30 September 1924.1 He died in 1979.1
     Sir Francis William Lascelles was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 He graduated from Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1912 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Sussex Yeomanry.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.).1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1937.1 He graduated from Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1953 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was Clerk of the House of Lords between 1953 and 1958.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1954.1
