     Sir John ap Adam, 1st and last Lord ap Adam was born before 1267.1 He was the son of Reynold ap Adam and Joan de Knoxville.1 He married Elizabeth de Gurnay, daughter of John de Gurnay and Olive Lovel, before 1291.1 He died between May 1311 and June 1311.1
     On 18 February 1290/91 he did homage, and had livery, of the lands of his father-in-law, John de Gurnay.1 On 19 July 1296 he inherited the lands of his mother-in-law, Olive Lovel.1 He was created 1st Lord ap Adam [England by writ] on 6 February 1298/99.1 He lived at Gorste, near Chepstow, Gloucestershire, England.1 He lived at Beachley, Tidenham, Gloucestershire, England.1
     However, none of his descendants were ever summoned to Parliament in respect of his Barony.1
