     Brigadier Bryan John Fowler was born on 18 August 1898.2 He was the son of George Hurst Fowler and Mabel Blakiston-Houston.3 He married Mary Olivia Nickalls, daughter of Colonel Cecil Patteson Nickalls, on 26 May 1944.2 He died on 4 December 1987 at age 89.4
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1918.2 He was awarded the Olympic Silver Medal in 1936 in polo.4 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943 and bar (1945).2 He retired from the military in 1949, with the rank of Brigadier, late of the Royal Artillery.2 He lived in 1976 at Rahinston, Enfield, County Meath, IrelandG.1
