Captain John Blackwell lived at Mortlake, Surrey, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1650 in the service of the Parliamentary Army.1 He held the office of Governor of Pennsylvania in 1688.1

Elizabeth Herne was born on 24 May 1678.1 She was the daughter of Sir Joseph Herne and Elizabeth Frederick.1 She was baptised on 11 June 1678 at St. Olv's, Old Jewry, London, England.1 She married Sir Lambert Blackwell, 1st Bt., son of Captain John Blackwell and Elizabeth Smithsby, before February 1697/98.1 She died on 12 October 1729 at age 51.1

Sir Charles Blackwell, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1700.1 He was the son of Sir Lambert Blackwell, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Herne.1 He married Anne Clayton, daughter of Sir William Clayton, 1st Bt. and Martha Kenrick, before 1721.1 He died on 18 July 1741.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 5 August 1741.1
