     Major Charles Francis Blackett was born on 6 January 1841.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Blackett, 6th Bt. and Julia Monck.1 He married Henrietta Louise Johanna Martha Schmidt, daughter of Carl Friedrich Schmidt, on 27 November 1886.1 He died on 3 February 1919 at age 78.1
     Major Charles Francis Blackett fought in the Indian Mutiny.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Rifle Brigade.1
