     Sir George Christopher Molesworth Birdwood was born on 8 December 1832.1 He was the son of General Christopher Birdwood and Lydia Juliana Taylor.1 He married Frances Anne Tolcher, daughter of Edward Tolcher, on 10 February 1856.1 He died on 28 June 1917 at age 84.1
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Indian Empire (K.C.I.E.)1
