     Lt.-Cdr. Hon. John David Hotham was born on 19 April 1911.² He was the son of Henry Edward Hotham and Ethel Lindsay Wood.² He married Aileen Coates, daughter of Captain Harry Coates and Ethel Rose Gray Edwards, on 11 April 1939.² He died on 24 March 1962 at age 50.²
