     Robert Craigie Bell was born on 13 September 1840.1 He was the son of Benjamin Bell of Blackethouse and Cecilia Barbara Craigie.1 He married Isabella Moubray Irving, daughter of Reverend Lewis Hay Irving.1 He died on 11 May 1911 at age 70.1
     Robert Craigie Bell was also known as Robert Cragie Bell.2 He was a lawyer, founding the firm of Bell and Scott at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He held the office of Writer to the Signet (W.S.) in 1864.1 He lived at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2
     He also had five other daughters.1
