     Major James Robert Bury-Barry was born on 12 January 1875.2 He was the son of Robert Bury and Anna Maria Hart.3 He married Judith Isabel Ringrose-Voase, daughter of William Ringrose Ringrose-Voase, on 3 October 1906.2 He died on 12 September 1963 at age 88.2
     He was given the name of James Robert Bury at birth.2 He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 On 12 January 1889 his name was legally changed to James Robert Bury-Barry by Royal Licence.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Cork in 1910.2 He gained the rank of Major in the British Army.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He lived at Ballyclough Kilworth, County Cork, IrelandG.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Cork.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Cork.2 He lived at Elvington Hall, Yorkshire, EnglandG.2
