     Sir Sidney Gerald Burrard, 7th Bt. was born on 12 August 1860.2 He was the son of Colonel Sidney Burrard and Geraldine Augusta Richardson.1 He married, firstly, Gertrude Ellen Haig, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Charles Thomas Haig, on 25 August 1887.2 He married, secondly, Alice Simons, daughter of Alfred Simons, on 5 September 1935.2 He died on 16 March 1943 at age 82.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Engineers.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1904.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in 1911.2 He held the office of Surveyor-General of India between 1911 and 1919.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.) in 1914.2 He wrote the book Borard and Burrard.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Burrard, of Walhampton, co. Southampton [G.B., 1769] in 1933.1

     Gertrude Ellen Haig was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Charles Thomas Haig.1 She married Sir Sidney Gerald Burrard, 7th Bt., son of Colonel Sidney Burrard and Geraldine Augusta Richardson, on 25 August 1887.1 She died on 7 December 1928.1
     From 25 August 1887, her married name became Burrard.2

     Joan Burrard was the daughter of Sir Sidney Gerald Burrard, 7th Bt. and Gertrude Ellen Haig.2,3 She married Sidney Lewes Dashwood, son of Reverend Robert Lewes Dashwood and Edith Theresa Cooper, on 19 April 1922.1 She died on 17 October 1963.1
     From 19 April 1922, her married name became Dashwood.
