     Edward Cranfield was the son of Edward Cranfield and Elizabeth Parker.1 He died circa 1700.1
     He held the office of Governor of New Hampshire between 1682 and 1685.1 He was commissioner of customs [Barbados] in 1685.1

     Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt. was born on 15 December 1629.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Armytage, 1st Bt. and Catherine Danby.1 He married Margaret Thornhill, daughter of Thomas Thornhill and Ann Trigot, before 1651.1 He died circa March 1676/77.1 He was buried on 9 March 1676/77.2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in the parish of Hartshead], co. York [E., 1641] in June 1644.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Troop of Volunteer Horse.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He held the office of Sheriff of Yorkshire from 1668 to 1669.1

     Margaret Thornhill was baptised on 1 February 1633/34 at Elland, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Thornhill and Ann Trigot.1 She married Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Francis Armytage, 1st Bt. and Catherine Danby, before 1651.1 She died in February 1695.1 She was buried on 10 February 1695 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1
     From before 1651, her married name became Armytage.1
