     Anne Mildmay was the daughter of Sir Thomas Mildmay and Frances Radcliffe.1 She married, firstly, Sir Roger Appleton, 1st Bt., son of Henry Appleton and Faith Cardinall.1 She married, secondly, John Paschall after 1613.1 She died circa July 1628.1 She was buried on 6 August 1628 at South Benfleet, Essex, EnglandG.1
     Her married name became Appleton.1 From after 1613, her married name became Paschall.1

     Henry Radcliffe, 4th Earl of Sussex was born circa 1532.1 He was the son of Henry Radcliffe, 2nd Earl of Sussex and Lady Elizabeth Howard.1 He married Honor Pound, daughter of Anthony Pound, circa 6 February 1548/49.2 He died on 14 December 1593.1
     He was appointed Knight in 1553.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Maldon in 1555.2 He held the office of Lieutenant of Queen's County between 1557 and 1564.2 He held the office of Lieutenant of King's County between 1557 and 1564.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] before February 1556/57.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carlingford [Ireland] in 1559.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for HAmpshire in 1571.2 He held the office of Governor of Portsmouth in 1571.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Portsmouth between 1572 and 1583.2 He succeeded as the 4th Viscount FitzWalter [E., 1524] on 9 June 1583.2 He succeeded as the 13th Lord FitzWalter [E., 1295] on 9 June 1583.2 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Sussex [E., 1529] on 9 June 1583.2 He held the office of Joint Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire between 1585 and 1593.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1589.2

     Sir Henry Appleton, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Roger Appleton, 1st Bt. and Anne Mildmay.1 He married, firstly, Joan Sheldon, daughter of Edward Sheldon and Elizabeth Markham.1 He married, secondly, Alice Rippingham, daughter of William Rippingham, on 11 August 1628 at St. Catharine's Coleman, London, EnglandG.1 He married, thirdly, Magdalen Watts, daughter of Sir John Watts and Magdalen Hawes, after 1631.1 He died before November 1649, in reduced circumstances.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Appleton, of South Benfleet, co. Essex [E., 1611] in January 1612/13.1 He was appointed Knight on 27 June 1613.1 He lived at Jarvis Hall, Essex, EnglandG.2 He fought in the defence of Colchester in 1648, as a Royalist.1
