     Colonel Sir Rowland Alston, 6th Bt. was the son of Sir Rowland Alston, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth Reynes.¹ He married Gertrude Durnford, daughter of Reverend Thomas Durnford and Susanna Stillingfleet.¹ He died on 29 June 1791, without issue.¹ His will (dated 22 March 1790) was proven (by probate) on 13 July 1791.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Alston, of Odell, co. Bedford [E., 1642] on 18 July 1774.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Bedfordshire between 1779 and 1780.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Gertrude Durnford was born circa 1731.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend Thomas Durnford and Susanna Stillingfleet.¹ She married Colonel Sir Rowland Alston, 6th Bt., son of Sir Rowland Alston, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth Reynes.¹ She died on 13 March 1807 at Harley Street, London, England^G.¹ Her will (dated 10 January 1792) was proven (by probate) in April 1807.¹
     Her married name became Alston.¹

     Reverend Thomas Durnford married Susanna Stillingfleet.²
     He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹ He was the Rector between 1682 and 1747 at Rockbourne, Fordingbridge, Hampshire, England^G.²

     Stillingfleet Durnford was baptised on 4 April 1718 at Cranborne, Dorset, England.² He was the son of Reverend Thomas Durnford and Susanna Stillingfleet.^1,3 He married Mary Demarez.² He died on 19 April 1786 at age 68.²
     He lived at Tower of London, The City, London, England^G.¹

     John Alston was born in 1763 at Gayton, Northamptonshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of John Wasse and Catharine Davis-Bovie.¹ He married Elizabeth Wasse, daughter of Charles Wasse, before 1789.¹ He died on 20 February 1807, without surviving male issue.¹
     He was given the name of John Wasse at birth.¹ He was styled as Baronet Alston in 1774.¹ In 1774 his name was legally changed to John Alston.¹

     John Wasse was a horse-dealer at Stafford, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Wasse was the daughter of Charles Wasse.¹ She married John Alston, son of John Wasse and Catharine Davis-Bovie, before 1789.¹ She died before 1808.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) in 1808.¹
     From before 1789, her married name became Alston.¹

     Charles Alston was born on 17 December 1769.¹ He was the son of John Wasse and Catharine Davis-Bovie.¹ He married Mary Williamson, daughter of John Williamson, on 28 September 1807 at Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ He died in 1853, without surviving male issue.¹
     He was given the name of Charles Wasse at birth.¹ He was styled as Baronet Alston on 20 February 1807.¹
