     Sigismund II August, King of Poland was born in 1520.1 He was the son of Sigismund I, King of Poland and Bonna Sforza.1 He married, firstly, Elisabeth Erzherzogin von Österreich, daughter of Ferdinand I von Habsburg, Holy Roman Emperor and Anna Jagellon, in 1543.1 He married, secondly, Barbara Radziwill, daughter of George Radziwill, Captain of Lithuania, in 1547.1 He married, thirdly, Katharina Erzherzogin von Österreich, daughter of Ferdinand I von Habsburg, Holy Roman Emperor and Anna Jagellon, in 1553.1 He died in 1572.1
     He was a member of the House of Jagellon.2 He held the office of Co-regent of Poland in 1529.2 He succeeded to the title of King Sigismund II of Poland in 1548.2
