     Karoline Gräfin von Nassau-Saarbrücken was born on 12 August 1704.2 She was the daughter of Ludwig Kraft Graf zu Nassau-Saarbrücken and Philippine Henriette Gräfin zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg.1,3 She married Christian III Pfalzgraf von Birkenfeld, son of Christian II Pfalzgraf von Birkenfeld and Catharine Agatha Gräfin zu Rappoltstein, on 21 September 1719.2 She died on 25 March 1774 at age 69.2
     She gained the title of Gräfin von Nassau-Saarbrücken.3

     Christian II Pfalzgraf von Birkenfeld was born on 22 June 1637.2 He married Catharine Agatha Gräfin zu Rappoltstein, daughter of Johann James Graf von Rappoltstein, on 5 September 1667.2 He died on 26 April 1717 at age 79.2
     He gained the title of Pfalzgraf von Birkenfeld.1

     From 1689, her married name became von Hanau-Lichtenberg.1
