     James McLaren Stuart Gray, 20th Lord Gray was born on 4 June 1864.1 He was the son of James Maclaren Smith-Gray and Eveleen Pounden, Lady Gray.1 He died on 2 May 1919 at age 54, unmarried.1
     James McLaren Stuart Gray, 20th Lord Gray graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 5th Battalion, Rifle Brigade.1 He succeeded to the title of 20th Lord Gray [S., 1445] on 24 December 1918.1
