He was the son of Ernst Leopold Prinz zu Leiningen and Marie Prinzessin von Baden.1 He married Feodore Viktoria Alberta Prinzessin zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, daughter of Hermann Ernst Franz Bernhard VI Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Leopoldine Wilhelmine Pauline Amalie Maximiliane Prinzessin von Baden, on 12 July 1894 at Langenburg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.2 He died on 18 July 1939 at age 73 at Schlossau, Germany.

     Carl I Fürst von Weikersheim was born on 25 January 1862 at Weikersheim, Germany.1 He was the son of Carl Ludwig Wilhelm Leopold Prinz zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Maria Grathwohl.2,1 He married Maria Aloysia Gräfin Czernin von und zu Chudenitz, daughter of Rudolf Graf Czernin von und zu Chudenitz and Emma Gräfin von Orsini und Rosenberg, on 13 May 1899 at Prague, Czech Republic.1 He died on 28 September 1925 at age 63 at Gräfelfing, Germany.1
     Carl I Fürst von Weikersheim gained the title of Freiherr von Bronn on 4 March 1890.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant Field Marshall.1 He was created 1st Fürst von Weikersheim on 18 July 1911, by the Emperor of Austria.1
