Elizabeth de Moravia, Countess of Sutherland was the daughter of John de Moravia, 8th Earl of Sutherland and Margaret Macdonald. She married Adam Gordon, son of George Gordon, 2nd Earl of Huntly and Lady Elizabeth Hay, circa 1500.1 She died circa September 1535 at Aboyne Castle, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

John Gordon, 11th Earl of Sutherland was the son of Alexander Gordon, Master of Sutherland and Lady Janet Stewart. He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Campbell, daughter of Colin Campbell, 3rd Earl of Argyll and Jean Gordon, circa 1544. He married, secondly, Lady Elizabeth Stuart, daughter of John Stuart, 12th Earl of Lennox and Lady Elizabeth Stewart, on 15 April 1549. He married, thirdly, Marion Seton, daughter of George Seton, 4th Lord Seton and Elizabeth Hay, after 1564.1 He died on 23 June 1567, from poison, along with his wife.
