     Maj.-Gen. Percy Guillemard Llewelyn Smith was born on 15 June 1838.2 He was the son of Colonel John Thomas Smith and Maria Sarah Tyser.2 He was baptised on 16 July 1838 at Madras, India.2 He married Ethel Parkyns, daughter of Mansfield Parkyns and Hon. Emma Louisa Bethell, in 1886.1 He died in 1893.1
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Engineers.1
