Sir Colin Gubbins was the son of John Harington Gubbins.3 He married, secondly, Anna Elise Jensen.3 He married, firstly, Norah Creina Somerville Warren, daughter of Philip Somerville Warren and Elizabeth Sherrard Somerville, in 1919.1 He and Norah Creina Somerville Warren were divorced in 1944.1 He died on 11 February 1976.1
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)1
