Brig.-Gen. Sir Hugh Houghton Stewart, 4th Bt.1

     Brig.-Gen. Sir Hugh Houghton Stewart, 4th Bt. was born on 15 September 1858.2 He is the son of Sir John Marcus Stewart, 3rd Bt. and Annie Coote Houghton.2 He married, firstly, Amy Greenwell, daughter of Walpole Eyre Greenwell and Eliza Theophila Morris, on 28 August 1915 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.1 He married, secondly, Agnes Mary Morton, daughter of Robert Rutherford Morton, on 1 August 1925 at Paddington, London, England.2 He died on 18 January 1942 at age 83, without issue.2
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the Boer War.2 He was commander of the 22nd Imperial Yeomanry in 1901.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 2nd Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County TYrone in 1903.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Stewart, of Athenree, co. Tyrone [U.K., 1803] on 26 February 1905.2 He was Brigadier-General of the 77th Brigade between 1914 and 1915.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1916.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 4th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2

     Sarah Carson is the daughter of Commander Hon. Walter Seymour Carson.1 She married Basil Evelyn Greenwell, son of Major Aynsley Eyre Greenwell and Beatrice Lilian Sanderson, on 22 July 1955.1
     From 22 July 1955, her married name became Greenwell.1 She lived in 2003 at Tanners, River, Petworth, Sussex, EnglandG.1
