     Hon. Richard Bethell was born on 26 April 1883.2 He was the son of Richard Luttrell Pilkington Bethell, 3rd Baron Westbury and Lady Agatha Manners Tollemache.2 He married Evelyn Lucia Millicent Hutton, daughter of Colonel George Morland Hutton and Eustacie Emma Millicent Arkwright, on 10 October 1911.2 He died on 15 November 1929 at age 46.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Guards.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1916, where he was wounded.2

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1
