     Andrew Coats was born on 27 May 1862.1 He was the son of Thomas Coats and Margaret Glen.1 He married Isabella Alice Lyon, daughter of George Francis Lyon, 3rd of Kirkmichael and Emma Ramsay Stark, on 28 July 1903.1 He died on 17 February 1930 at age 67.1
     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1901, with the Glasgow Yeomanry.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1

     Isabella Alice Lyon was the daughter of George Francis Lyon, 3rd of Kirkmichael and Emma Ramsay Stark.2,1 She married Andrew Coats, son of Thomas Coats and Margaret Glen, on 28 July 1903.1 She died, without issue.2
     From 28 July 1903, her married name became Coats.1
