Sir Frederick Danby James Affleck, 8th Bt. was born on 3 February 1856.1 He was the son of Reverend James Danby Affleck and Sophia Dyson.1 He married Lily Ross, daughter of Alfred Quarm Ross, on 3 January 1904, but this marriage must have been a fiction invented for the Burkes entry, as Lily does not mention it.2,3 He married an unknown person on 21 June 1939 at Ann Street Presbyterian Church, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.3 He married Lily Ross, daughter of Alfred Quarm Ross, on 23 November 1918 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, but this marriage was not valid as Lily's first husband was apparently still alive.3 He died on 24 July 1939 at age 83 at Queensland, Australia.4
He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Affleck, of Dalham Hall, co. Suffolk [G.B., 1782] on 4 December 1919.2 On 27 July 1939 the three children of his marriage were registered as legitimate under Queensland Legitimation Acts 1899 and 1938. However under English law, this does not entitle the legitimated children to inhereit a baronetcy.3
On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.3
