     Captain Cecil Hunter Boyd Gowan married Venetia Mary Stanley Errington Savile, daughter of Reverend William Hale Savile and Mabel von Bothmer, on 10 February 1930.¹ He died on 28 July 1941.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.¹

     Venetia Stanley Errington was the daughter of Sir Rowland Stanley Errington, 11th Bt.¹ She married John Horace Savile, 5th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford, son of John Charles George Savile, 4th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford and Lady Rachel Katherine Walpole, on 24 April 1867.¹ She died on 13 November 1900, without surviving issue.¹
      From 24 April 1867, her married name became Savile.¹ As a result of her marriage, Venetia Stanley Errington was styled as Countess of Mexborough of Longford on 17 August 1899.
