     Charles Trevor Lawrence was born on 18 September 1879.1 He was the son of Sir James John Trevor Lawrence, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Matthew.2 He married Adeliza Donnelly, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir John Fretcheville Dykes Donnelly, on 7 March 1916.1 He died on 10 April 1953 at age 73, without issue.1
     He fought in the Boer War.1 He fought in the Nigerian Campaign between 1901 and 1905, and was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Hampshire Regiment.1 In 1914 he raised the Nigeria Land Contingent.1 He fought in the First World War between 1917 and 1918, in Nigeria.1 He was Commissioner of Nigeria for the British Empire Exhibition between 1923 and 1925.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1926.1 He was Administrator of Lagos.1
