     He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.).¹

     John Newton married Catherine Seymour, daughter of Very Rev. Lord Francis Seymour and Catherine Payne, on 6 June 1776.¹ He and Catherine Seymour were divorced in 1782.¹
     He lived at King's Bromley, Staffordshire, England.¹

     Jacob Constant married Catherine Seymour, daughter of Very Rev. Lord Francis Seymour and Catherine Payne, in 1783.^1,2

     George Payne was born in 1685.¹ He was the son of Samuel Payne and Frances Kendrick.¹ He married Anne Martha Batson.¹ He died on 23 February 1757.¹

      Her married name became Payne.¹

     Sarah Payne was born in 1724.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend Thomas Payne and Sarah Andrews.¹ She married Lewis Way on 1 May 1755.² She died on 17 April 1800.²
      From 1 May 1755, her married name became Way.

     Elizabeth Anne Cooke was the daughter of Very Rev. William Cooke.¹ She married Benjamin Way, son of Lewis Way and Abigail Lockey, on 10 November 1767.¹ She died in November 1825.¹
      From 10 November 1767, her married name became Way.¹

     Frances Payne was the daughter of Reverend Thomas Payne and Sarah Andrews.¹ She married, firstly, George Compton, 6th Earl of Northampton, son of George Compton, 4th Earl of Northampton and Jane Fox, on 5 March 1748.² She married, secondly, Claudius Amyand on 26 November 1761.² She died on 25 December 1800.¹
      From 5 March 1748, her married name became Compton. From 26 November 1761, her married name became Amyand.
