Major Robert Stannus1

     Major Robert Stannus was born in August 1786.2 He was the son of Ephraim Stannus and Susanna Gerrish.2 He married Clotilda Bona Graves, daughter of Maj.-Gen. James William Graves and Marie Victoire Black.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the 29th Regiment.1 He fought in the Peninsular Wars, where he was wounded five times.2

     Anna Victoria Graves was born circa 1813.2 She is the daughter of Maj.-Gen. James William Graves and Marie Victoire Black.1 She married, firstly, Chambré Corker, son of Chambré Corker, on 18 March 1825 at St. Catherine's Church, Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland.1,2 She married, secondly, Henry Ainslie, son of Sir Robert Sharp Ainslie, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Wanger, on 8 July 1848 at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster, London, England.3,2
     From 18 March 1825, her married name became Corker.1 From 8 July 1848, her married name became Ainslie.3
