     John Henry Becher was born in 1840.2 He was the son of Reverend John Drake Becher and Elizabeth Susanna Machin.2 He married Alice Mary Pickard-Cambridge, daughter of Reverend Edward Pickard-Cambridge and Harriet Caroline Foot, on 17 April 1879.2,3 He died on 13 April 1903 at Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England.2,3
     John Henry Becher was educated between 1853 and 1855 at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.2 He was admitted to Inner Temple on 19 November 1859.3 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1861 with a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.).2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Nottinghamshire.2 He lived at Hill House, Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England.2
