     Sir James Thynne was the son of Sir Thomas Thynne and Lady Maria Tuchet.1 He married Lady Isabella Rich, daughter of Henry Rich, 1st Earl of Holland and Isabel Cope.1 He died on 12 October 1670, without issue.1
     He lived at Longleat House, Warminster, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1

     Henry Rich, 1st Earl of Holland was baptised on 19 August 1590.2 He was the son of Robert Rich, 1st Earl of Warwick and Lady Penelope Devereux.3 He married Isabel Cope, daughter of Sir Walter Cope and Dorothy Grenville, before 1616.4 He died on 9 March 1649 at age 58 at Westminster Hall, London, EnglandG, executed by decapitation.5 He was buried on 10 March 1649.6
     He was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.7 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Leicester in 1610.7 He was appointed Knight on 3 June 1610.7 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Leicester in 1614.7 He was Captain of the Yeomen of the Guard in 1617.7 He was created 1st Baron Kensington on 8 March 1623. He gained the title of 1st Earl of Holland on 15 September 1624. He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 13 December 1625.7 He held the office of Chancellor of the Cambridge University between 1628 and 1649.7 He gained the rank of General of the Horse on 2 February 1639.7

     He held the office of Hon. Canon of Truro.1 He was the Rector at Kirkhampton, Cornwall, EnglandG.1
