Virginia Irvine-Fortescue (nee Townsend) wife of Grenville, gave birth to a son, Edmund, 1 May 1995, a brother for Alexander, Simon and Juliet.

The engagement was announced 26 Apr 1995, between Robert A.M. Whitaker, only son of Evald Whitaker and Mrs Margaret Whitaker, & Katharine (b 1956) dau of the Hon Martin Fortescue (b 1924), of the Earls Fortescue.

Princess Marissa Clare zu Bentheim-Tecklenburg [nee Fortescue], b. 1973, wife of Prince Maximilian zu Bentheim-Tecklenburg, & granddaughter of the late 6th Earl Fortescue, gave birth to a daughter,
Louise Helena Agnes Delia, 22 April, 2005, a sister for Moritz Frederick Carl, who was b. 27 March, 2003.

James William Irvine-Fortescue, who died 13 March, 2005, aged 87, was 15th laird of Kingcausie, and a descendant of the Barons (later Earls) Fortescue.

He was born 7 June, 1917, at Pownall Hall, Wilmslow, Cheshire, son of Colonel Archer Irvine-Fortescue, DSO (1880-10 Mar 1959), by his wife Ruth Olive Boddington (b. 9 July, 1883; d. 1971), daughter of Henry Boddington (1849-1925), of Pownall Hall, Cheshire, of the BLG family Boddington of Pownall Hall.

He married in 1953, Margaret Guise, daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel G.D. Yates, by whom he had issue, three sons, Grenville, Henry & James, and one daughter, Rachel.

Career: Major and Staff Paymaster, RAPC; member of Kincardine County Council, 1952-58, and 1964-73, JP and DL for Kincardineshire; FSA Scotland, 1981.

The Hon. Martin Denzil Fortescue, b. 5 Jan, 1924, yr son of the late
6th Earl Fortescue (1893-1977) by his first wife, the former Marjorie
Ellinor Trotter (of Hamilton of Dalzell descent); married 1954,
Prudence Louisa (d. 1992), dau of Sir Charles Rowley, 6th Baronet; died
15 May, 2005.

He leaves issue, John Andrew Francis, b. 1962; Katharine,
b. 1956; and Georgina, b. 1958. Martin Fortescue was heir pres, to the
peerages of his nephew, the 8th Earl Fortescue (b. 1951).

The engagement was announced 6 July 2007 between Robert S.I. Derry, son of Mr and Mrs Richard Derry, and the Lady Alice Penelope Fortescue (b 1978), eldest daughter of the 8th Earl Fortescue (b 10 May 1951) and Countess Fortescue.

Stirlingshire. No issue. She was the dau of Capt Grenville Fortescue (1887-ka 1915 gs of the 3rd Earl Fortescue) and Adelaide (d 1977, having married 2ndly Brig Robin Leslie Hutchins, MC, Gren Gds (died 1973)) dau of Henry Lorenzo
