[Michael Rhodes]

Margaret Farquhar, who died 13 January, 2005, was the widow of Major Ian Rupert Farquhar, Grenadier Guards (1918-2003), scion of the Farquhar Baronets.

She was Margaret Eugenie Borthwick, younger daughter of Francis John Gordon Borthwick (1871-1948) scion of the Lords Borthwick (Peerage of Scotland, cr. circa 1450), by his wife Eugenie; and married Ian Farquhar in 1944.

Her elder sister, Mary Alice, married Lt-Cdr the Hon. Douglas Vivian, of the Barons Vivian.

Mrs Farquhar leaves a son, Francis Rupert, b. 1952.
