It has probably been brought up hundreds of times, but I am trying to trace from Robert Bruce to my imediate family. The line runs form the Bruc to Lindsay to Hancock to Taylor to Vickers. I was just wandering if anyone had information or had already performed research on these lines? I know that there has been a lot of research done here on this site and I am very impressed.

I'm descended a few ways from the Bruce:

- through the Lindsay line, which runs into Graham, Loftus, Butler, FitzGerald, Creagh.

- through his daughter Elizabeth into Oliphant, Borthwick and Graham as above.

- through his daughter Margaret into de la Glen, Boswell, Betoun/Bethune, Dury, Pitcairn, Robertson, Syme and Brougham.

I don't have the Hancocks onwards, I'm afraid.

Robert the Bruce had a daughter named Morjory Bruce, she married Walter Stewart.
His son was Robert Stewart.
He had a daughter named Elizebeth (Catherine) Stewart which married a David Lindsay.
To be quick about it, I am only going to list his male decendents that run into me.

-Jerome Lindsay, From what I understand, he came to the US and that is when it gets all messed up and starts being hard to figure out. From what I have figure out he had a son named James Lindsey. The spelling changed. His son was

-Thomas Lindsey, His daughter was Nancy Lindsey who married John Ivey.
Their daughter was Hester Ann Ivey who married Cader Hancock. They had a son named Elder Littleton Albritton Hancock. His daughter Lillian Tonnie Hancock married Hughey L. Taylor. Thaey had a daughter named Cara Mae Taylor, which is my grandmother.
I guess what I am looking for is the proof of all of this which started getting sketchy at Jerome Lindsey.

We share ancestry from Elizabeth/Catherine Stewart and David Lindsay 1st Earl of Crawford; whereas you descend from their son Alexander, I descend from their daughter Elizabeth who had a daughter called Christiana Erskine (I haven't tracked down her father yet).
