The marriage took place at Canterbury Cathedral 13 January, 2007, between the Hon. Jacob William Rees-Mogg (b. 1969), younger son of the Baron Rees-Mogg (b. 14 July 1928), life peer since 1988, of Mells, Somerset, and Baroness Rees-Mogg, and Helena Anne Beatrix Wentworth Fitzwilliam de Chair (b. 1977), scion of that LG family, daughter of the late Capt Somerset Struben de Chair and of Lady (Anne) Juliet Dorothea Maud Tadgell (nee Fitzwilliam, b. 1935), of Bourne Park, Kent, daughter of the 8th Earl Fitzwilliam (peerage extinct since 1979).

The engagement was announced 19 Feb 1996 between the Hon Thomas Rees-Mogg, elder son of the Baron and Baroness Rees-Mogg, and Modwenna V.H. Northcote, scion of the Earls of Iddesleigh, dau of the Hon Edward Northcote, of London, and the Hon Mrs Edward Northcote, of Middx.

Helena Anne Beatrix Wentworth Fitzwilliam Rees-Mogg (nee de Chair, b 1977), wife of the Hon. Mrs Rees-Mogg is a granddaughter maternally of the 8th Earl Fitzwilliam.

_.The Baron Rees-Mogg, editor of The Times 1967-81, and a life peer since 1988, died in December, 2012. William Rees-Mogg was 84. Born 14 July, 1928, son of Edmund Fletcher Rees-Mogg, of Cholwell House, Somerset; married 1962, Gillian Shakespeare Morris, by whom he had a issue, 2 sons, Thomas and Jacob, and three daughters, Emma, Charlotte and Annunziata.
