The engagement was announced, 7 February, 2002, between Mr James William Courtenay Forbes, (b. 1970), only son of Mr (John) Alistair Ponsonby Forbes, and Mrs Forbes, (a daughter of Sir William Goodenough, Bt), and Dorinda Mary, (b. 1957), former wife of Murray Ross Maclean Hancock, of Melbourne, Australia, and daughter of Mr (Christopher) Michael Wolfe Murray, and his first wife, Jacqueline (now Mrs William Faulkner). Jamie Forbes is a kinsman of the Premier Lord of Scotland, Lord Forbes, and the grandson maternally of Sir William Goodenough, 1st Bt. Jamie's fiancee is a scion of the Murray of Blackbarony Baronets, and a granddaughter maternally of Colonel Sir John Turnbull Usher, OBE, 3rd Baronet.

Major Anthony Forbes, Younger of Rothiemay, late the Scots Guards, who was born 20 May, 1944, second but eldest surviving son of Lt-Col William John Herbert Forbes of Rothiemay, DSO, Representor of the House of Forbes of Rothiemay, formerly of Dunira, by Comrie, Perthshire (b. 25 Sept. 1912), by his wife Diana Burrell de Ker Knox, died in Norway, 9 September, 2003, aged 59. Anthony David Knox Forbes was descended from John Forbes, of Newe (6th in descent from Sir William Forbes, 1st of Kynaldy & Pitsligo (1419-46), and brother of Sir Alexander, who was created 1st Lord Forbes, see extinct peerage, Forbes of Pitsligo.) He leaves a widow, Ryden, and a son, Iain, and daughter, Anneli.

Camilla Rose Forbes, who died 31 July, 2004, from leukaemia, aged only 21, was a granddaughter of the 22nd Lord Forbes, KBE, Premier Lord of Scotland. She was born in 1983, the elder daughter of the Hon. Jonathan Andrew Forbes (b. 1947), Captain, Grenadier Guards, of Alford, Aberdeenshire, by his wife, the Hon. Nichola Frances Hawke, daughter of the 10th Baron Hawke. Camilla is survived by both parents, and by a brother, James (b. 1987), and younger sister, Annabella (b. 1985).

The engagement was announced 10 Dec 2008, between Neil Malcolm Ross Forbes (b 10 Mar 1970), eldest son of The Hon Malcolm Nigel Forbes,
The Master of Forbes (b 6 May 1946), of Castle Forbes, Aberdeenshire,
and Mrs Dennis Harding, of Gullane, East Lothian (nee Carole
Whitehead), and Maria Martell, eldest daughter of Mr Andrew Martell,
Shotley Hall, Co. Durham, and Mrs Clare Thorn, of Mistley, Essex.

Neil Forbes is the grandson of the 22nd Lord Forbes, KBE (b 19 Feb
1918), Premier Lord of Scotland.

From the Telegraph of 3 December 2010:
FORBES
On November 28th 2010, to MARIA (née Martell) and NEIL, a son, Geordie
Malcolm Andrew.
Neil Malcolm Ross FORBES (b 1970) m 2009 Maria Elfgyva (dau of Andrew
MARTELL of Shotley Hall, co Durham, and of Mrs Clare Thorn, of
Mistley, Essex). Neil is the son and heir of the Master of Forbes (b
1946), apparent heir of the 22nd Lord FORBES (b 1918). The infant is
therefore third in direct line of succession to this ancient peerage.
Lord Forbes joins a select group of peers who have a great grandson in
direct line who is born in the peer's lifetime.

The engagement is announced between Angus, younger son of the late
Robina and Chris Watson and nephew of Mr and Mrs David Gyle-Thompson,
of Little Somerford, Wiltshire, and Nicola, daughter of Mr and Mrs
David James Boxall, of Waterlooville, Hampshire.

Angus Christopher Hugo (b 1972) s of Christopher J (s of J M S WATSON
of Lower Hazlehurst, Ticehurst, Sussex) and (Sara Anne) Robina GYLE-
THOMPSON (b 1941), scion of the Lords FORBES, descended from issue of
the 18th Lord's 2nd m.
