Can anyone out there help me? My father passed away a couple of years ago and as a result it spured me on to trace my family tree. Now my father had hinted, when I was a child, that there may have been a link to French aristocracy. We all thought this to be fanciful rubbish until I sent off for my parents marriage certificate. The certificate states that his fathers name was Rene Johnson (Marquis de Bauffremont Croixville) then it had brackets deceased. Then next to my fathers name it Trevor William Alfred Johnson (Marquis de Bauffremont Croixville). Of course this could still be fanciful nonsence but I need to find out.

Is there anyone out there that may be able to help? who might know where to look or how to find out?

I have tried searching google but to no avail!
