The Rev. the Hon Andrew Elphinstone, cousin of the Queen, died suddenly at his home at Worplesdon, Surrey, 19 March, 1975. He was 56.

Andrew's widow, Jean Frances (nee Hambro), married thirdly, in the Lady Chapel of Guildford Cathedral, 14 April, 1980, her brother-in-law, Lieutenant-Colonel John William Richard Woodroffe (b. 8 April, 1916 son of Brig-Gen Charles Richard Woodroffe, CMG, CVO, CBE (whd d. 1965), and widower of Patricia Hambro. Woodroff'e addresses in 1971 were The Glebe House, Sacombe, Ware, Hertfordshire, and Phesdo House, Laurencekirk, Kincardineshire. He was Managing Director of Hambros Bank 1955-70, &c.

The Hon (Mary) Elizabeth Elphinstone, eldest daughter of the 16th Lord Elphinstone, b. 2 July, 1911, died at her home in Perthshire, 16 May, 1980.
The funeral took place at St Ninian's Episcopal Church, Alyth, 22 May.

The engagement was announced 27 November, 2006, between Alexander Mountstuart Elphinstone, 19th Lord Elphinstone (cr. 1509 (Scots) UK Baron 1885) (b. 15 Apr 1980), of Tyninghame, East Lothian, eldest son of the late 18th Lord Elphinstone (1953-94), by his wife the former Willa Mary Gabriel Chetwode, scion of the Barons Chetwode, & Nicola J. Hall, younger daughter of Mr & Mrs Michael Hall, of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
Lord Elphinstone is a great-grandson of the 16th Lord Elphinstone, KT (1869-1955), who married in 1910, Lady Mary Frances Bowes Lyon, DCVO, who d. 1961, elder sister of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

The Lady Elphinstone, wife of the Queen's cousin, the 19th Lord
Elphinstone (b 15 Apr 1980), gave birth to a 1st child, a daughter,
Isla Elizabeth, in Brazil, 29 December, 2008.

Alexander Mountstuart Elphinstone, 19th Lord Elphinstone (cr. 1509

KINGHORNE) from his 2007 marriage to Nicola J, dau of Michael HALL of
Beaconsfield, Bucks. A dau, the Hon Isla Elizabeth, was b 2008.
