Greetings, Darryl,
I want to thank you for your efforts. It's a shame we never met when you lived in Philadelphia or New York. I've recently re-transplanted myself back to the country of my birth and now live in Western New York.
A little story as to how I found you. I responded to the advertising for ancestry . com and hit many of those little leaves, or ancestry hints. One of them produced a link to King Robert II of Scotland, and the hit took me to thepeerage . com.
Oh ho, I thought, there's royal blood in me! Well, not yet! Only by marriage!
So I, too, have been infected with the ancestry bug, in particular the royalty! Having been to school with royalty (only because my British mother insisted on the "best" school) I always did wonder if the family folklore about royal links was true.
As I work through your database, I have developed calluses doing cut and paste into the software I'm using, Reunion 9 for the mac. It is my intention to fully update that database then upload it back to ancestry . com to see how many hints appear, particularly in the 14th century!
This all brings up a question, probably asked before, do you ever intend to produce a GEDCOM file that your grateful users may download and read into their own databases? It would be most appreciated.
Cheers. _________________ John Kirk |

Thanks for the feedback.
Sorry, no I don't intend producing a gedcom for distribution - my database currently has around 460,000 people and TMG takes forever producing gedcoms from its database - currently taking around 13 hours of computer time for my database, and makes the computer unusable for other tasks. And my database changes significantly everyday, make any snapshot subject to lots of changes later.
