The engagement was announced 13 January, 2005, between Mark Archibald Makgill-Crichton-Maitland (b. 1955), eldest son of (John) David Makgill-Crichton-Maitland (b. 1925), Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire, 1980-94, scion of the Earls of Lauderdale, and his late wife, the former Jean Patricia (d. 1985), daughter of Maj-Gen Sir Michael O'More Creagh, KBE, MC, & Melanie J, former wife of Mr. Wilkinson, and daughter of Mr & Mrs David Anthoney, of Mirfield, West Yorkshire.

This is Mark's second marriage. In 1987 he wed Mrs Judith Mainwaring, by whom he has issue.

The engagement was announced 21 March, 2005, between James Richard (Jamie) Heriot Maitland (b. 1978), scion of the Earls of Lauderdale, son of Mr Lewis Dalgleish Heriot Maitland (b. 1943), of Errol Park, Errol, Perthshire, by his wife, the former Prudence Jane Norris, and Katherine M. McPherson, daughter of Mr and Mrs D.R. McPherson, of Kilspindie, Perthshire.

Major Mark Michael Makgill Crichton Maitland, lately of the Gordon Highlanders, who died at Edinburgh, 14 March, 2005, was a scion of the Earls of Lauderdale (cr. 1624).

He was born in 1928, a son of Colonel Mark Edward Makgill-Crichton-Maitland, CVO, DSO (1882-1972), by his wife, the former Patience Irene Fleetwood Fuller, daughter of Sir John Michael Fleetwood Fuller, 1st Baronet, KCMG.

He never married.

The funeral takes place at Warriston Crematorium Clositer Chapel, Edinburgh, 23 March, 2005

Godden, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Nicholas Godden, of St Mabyn, North Cornwall.

Alexander Dougal Callander, (scion of that ancient Scots dynasty?),
who died at Coldon, Port of Menteith, 11 February, 2007, aged 71, was
the husband of Mona (nee Meldrum), and father of (i) Sheena, who m.
1979, David Edward Maitland-Makgill-Crichton (b. 1952), scion of the
Earls of Lauderdale; (ii) Alison and (iii) David; the funeral took
place at Callander, 16 Feb 2006.

Charles William Maitland-Makgill-Crichton, who died 27 May 2007, suddenly whilst recovering from an operation,
was a scion of the Earls of Lauderdale, b 1961, a son of Maj-Gen Edward Maitland-Makgill-Crichton, OBE (b 1916), by his wife, Sheila (d 1 Apr 2004). He was the "devoted companion of Marion". Funeral Service to be held at the Port of Menteith Kirk, 8 June.

Katherine M. Heriot Maitland (nee McPherson), wife of James Richard

gave birth to a son, Louis Frederick, 11 September, 2008.

Audrey Enid Rogerson (née Maitland-Heriot), who died 7 October, 2008,
aged 87, was a scion of the Earls of Lauderdale (Earl Scot. 1624). She
was born in 1921 as Audrey Enid Maitland-Heriot, dau of (Charles)
Adrian Maitland-Heriot, DSC (1886-1950), by his wife the former
Dorothy Mary Egerton-Savory (d 1979); served in World War II 1939-45
with WAAF; married 1972, John Rogerson (dec); no issue. Funeral
Service at St. Mary's Church, Cadogan Street, on Wednesday 22 October,
2008.

Sybil Twynihoe Erle (d 1984, aged 105), dau of Twynihoe William Erle,
a Master of the Supreme Court, of Bramshott Grange, Liphook, Hants;
married 1940, Flt-Lieut. James Herbert Lonsdale Musker (b 1 Apr 1907;
d 1966), late the RAFVR, formerly of the 7th Hussars, scion of the LG
family of Musker, of Shadwell Park, son of Herbert Musker (1878-1947),
of Rushford Hall, Thetford, by his wife the former Nora Lonsdale Berry
(later, wife of Sir Egerton Hamond-Graeme, 5th Bart, & a niece of the
1st & last Baron Armaghdale). Rosemary Musker leaves a dau, Juliet
Alexandra Sarah, b 22 Aug 1941, wife of William Edward Barry, of the
